The LJP and RLSP on Monday expressed their unhappiness over delay in finalisation of seats for the upcoming Bihar assembly elections, saying the BJP must contest only 102 of the 243 seats and leave 141 for its three allies. Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) and the Rashtriya Lok Samata Party (RLSP) expressed discomfort with Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders' slogan -- "Abki bar Bhajpa sarkar", saying it was wrong to raise such a slogan as the next government would be formed by BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA). Addressing a joint press conference here LJP's state president Pasupati Kumar Paras and RLSP state president Arun Kumar said the BJP should finalise the seat sharing at the earliest, as it would be the sooner the better.

07/08/2015 To review preparations, Poll panel team in Bihar!! Chief Election Commissioner Nasim Zaidi, along with his team, arrived in Bihar capital Patna on Friday on a two-day visit to review preparations for the upcoming assembly polls, an official said. After reviewing the preparations, the Election commission is likely to finalise the date for the Bihar assembly polls and may announce it next week, the official said. Deputy Election Commissioner Vinod Zutshi, one of the members of the election commission team, told media that the team would meet representatives of various political parties on Friday evening The team would also meet top officials to district-level officials on Saturday (August 8) to make elaborate security plans for the elections, Zutshi said. "The EC team would meet representatives of all political parties separately to know their views," he said.
07/08/2015 Rajya Sabha adjourned till 2.30 p.m. The Rajya Sabha was adjourned till 2.30 p.m. on Friday after Congress members raised slogans against the government and accused it of being "dictatorial". Soon after the house met, Deputy Chairman P.J. Kurien allowed papers to be laid and then permitted Samajwadi Party leader Naresh Agarwal to speak. He raised the issue of the notice given by 30 MPs of the ruling National Democratic Alliance to Chairman M. Hamid Ansari, requesting him to take action against Congress parliamentarians for disrupting the proceedings. Agarwal said, "Congress is opposing the dictatorial attitude of the ruling party and all opposition is with them." "The notice given to Rajya Sabha chairman is an attempt to pressurise him," he added. As the Rajya Sabha continued to be disrupted through the third week of the monsoon session, around 30 MPs of the ruling NDA on Thursday wrote to Chairman M. Hamid Ansari to take action against Congress parliamentarians disrupting the proceedings.

Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi on Friday said that External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj's family has "received money" from former IPL chairman Lalit Modi. "Whenever there is a robbery or stealing, a financial transfer takes place. There has been a financial transfer here as well. Sushma's family has received money from Lalit Modi. She should tell the country exactly how much money Lalit Modi has paid her family to keep himself out of jail," Gandhi said outside parliament. Sushma Swaraj on Thursday told the Lok Sabha that she did not recommend to the British government to give travel documents to former IPL chief Lalit Modi. She also said the allegations against her of recommending travel documents for Lalit Modi were "wrong and baseless". The minister had also questioned Congress president Sonia Gandhi what she would have done had she been in her place. Rahul Gandhi said: "As Sonia Gandhi's son I can say she would not have done the same thing. Whenever there is some stealing happens, secrecy is maintained by the thief. In this case, Sushma has maintained full secrecy. Nobody in the ministry other than Sushma Swaraj knew about this decision. After this decision, government of the United Kingdom changed their position."

Actor-turned-BJP leader Shatrughan Sinha on Wednesday expressed unhappiness over the suspension of 25 Congress members by Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan. "Feel unhappy about the developments in parliament... the expulsion of 25 learned MP friends, including one who was not even present," Sinha tweeted. "Good sense must prevail ... sooner the better," he added, referring to the parliament logjam following the Congress insistence that External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj must resign. The government has rejected the demand. Mahajan suspended the Congress MPs for five days on Monday for "wilfully obstructing the business of the house" and not adhering to her repeated requests to observe the rules.
